  • What are the Rental Requirements?

    Renters and drivers must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license. A credit card is required on file. All drivers must be listed on the rental agreement.


  • Can my kids drive?

    Unfortunately no, all drivers must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.


  • Can I add another driver to my rental?

    Yes! Additional drivers can be added to your rental agreement. All drivers must meet our age and license requirements and be present at pickup to sign the rental agreement.


  • What kind of insurance is required to rent a golf cart?

    All customers must provide their own vehicle insurance. It must be valid and have your name on it.


  • What are the pickup and drop-off times?

     The pickup and drop-off times are based off the time you make your reservation and are for 24hrs from that time.


  • Will you be able to deliver the golf cart?

    Absolutely!  We deliver to the address provided at checkout, no need for you to be there! We place the keys under the seat and send you a list of instructions, rules, and regulations. Your cart will be dropped off at your scheduled reservation time.


  • Are your golf carts street legal? Where can I drive them?

    Yes, all our carts are fully street legal in Port Aransas! You can drive on any road with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less. This covers most of the island, including the beach access roads, downtown, and residential areas.


  • Can I drive the golf cart on the beach?

    Yes, you can! The beach is considered a public road in Port Aransas, so our street-legal golf carts are perfectly allowed on the sand. It's one of the best ways to explore the coastline, and keeps the sand out of your car.


  • Can my pets ride on the golf cart?

    Yes! We just ask that you are cautious with the seats and your pet's nails as they are vinyl seats and can scratch or puncture easily. We recommend keeping large pets on the floorboard or using a thick blanket tucked in securely to ensure your animal doesn't cause any accidental damage.


  • How do I work the Bluetooth speakers?

    Make sure the key is turned on. Push the blue button in located in the dash to the left of the stirring wheel, Go to your Bluetooth settings on your phone and click to connect to an available device. Wait for the beep to confirm connection. If this doesn't work, please confirm all nearby devices have their Bluetooth turned off.


  • How do I refuel my golf cart?

    Our carts run on regular unleaded gasoline. Fill up at any gas station in Port Aransas. A full tank provides plenty of range for exploring the island all day! All golf carts must be refilled prior to pick up, or you will be charged a 35.00 fee.


  • Do I have to refill gas or clean it?

    Yes, please top off the golf cart before pickup. We also offer prepaid fuel for $35 for a hassle-free experience—no need to stop at the gas station! Just remove your belongings and any trash prior to pickup.


  • What do I do if the golf cart breaks down?

    Call us immediately at (361) 445-9791 and we'll bring you a replacement cart right away 24/7 . We want to make sure your vacation isn't interrupted.



  • What if we want to keep the cart for an extra day or two?

    Just give us a call! We're happy to extend your rental based on availability. Extensions are charged at our standard daily rate and can often be arranged same-day.


  • I need to cancel my reservation, what do I do?

    We understand plans change! Contact us at (361) 445-9791  as soon as possible. Cancellations made 7 days before your rental start time receive a full refund.


  • Can I return early if the weather is bad?

    Unfortunately, we do not offer early returns as weather is something that is uncontrollable. We base rentals off of the set days you book and do not offer refunds in this case.


  • Are Golf carts Gas or Electric?

    All of Salty Island Waves Carts are Gas.


  • Can I drink Alcohol on the golf cart?

    NO!!!! All vehicular laws apply to Golf Carts in Port Aransas. There will be No Drinking and Driving at Any Time!


  • What's the minimum age to rent a golf cart in Port Aransas?

    Renters must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and provide a security deposit. This requirement applies to all cart sizes, from 4-passenger to 8-passenger rentals. The deposit is refunded after the cart is returned in good condition.

  • Do you deliver golf carts directly to vacation rentals in Port Aransas?

    Golf carts are delivered to eligible vacation homes, resorts, hotels, and rental properties throughout Port Aransas. Delivery eliminates travel time before your vacation starts and includes scheduled pickup when your rental period ends. Reserve delivery in advance during holidays and peak seasons when scheduling fills quickly.

  • Can I cancel my golf cart reservation if my travel plans change?

    Cancellations made at least 14 days before the rental period receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 14 days in advance may be subject to a fee. This policy applies to all rental durations and cart sizes.

    Child seats, coolers, and beach gear are available as add-on accessories with any rental. Golf carts accommodate passengers plus gear like beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels without needing multiple vehicles. Request accessories when booking to ensure availability during your rental period.
